Oreo has found lots of success in the dressage ring! She went from being a green 3 year old to competing at the FEI level. In 2020, she ribboned at the USDF Regionals at 3rd Level, 4th Level and 3rd Freestyle. In 2021, she competed at the USDF Regionals in Prix St. George, Intermediare I and Intermediare Freestyle. She earned the AWSSR Open FEI High Score at the USDF Finals. This year also marked her first try out on the eventing course and finished double clear at both Beginner Novice events. She is a 2021 AWSSR Ambassador.

Her owner, Elaine Knowles Cole, said Oreo is honest, brave and adaptable.

“She brings me great joy! As a timid senior citizen, I needed a special horse to get back to riding and Oreo is much more than I ever imagined she could be,” Elaine said. “I can ride her, give pony rides to my grandchildren and cheer on her FEI work with trainer Emily Brollier of Miramonte Equine.”

“Owning an American Warmblood is the best equine experience in my 45+ years as a horse owner,” Elaine said. “Supporting a group of like-minded people who appreciate find equine athletes is a very positive feeling.”

Her advice to other American Warmblood owners?

“Be glad you own such a versatile horse!”

Oreo’s future is bright, Elaine said. She hopes to compete at Intermediare I next year and go toward the higher levels.

“She goes into the ring with competitive fire, yet hacks out safely on the buckle. Just what I need and love,” Elaine said.
