Is my horse eligible for your registry?

Our registry is a performance registry that welcomes horses regardless of heritage as long as it has the athleticism for dressage, jumping, or driving and completes a performance requirement. Horses can earn their performance requirement via inspection (via video or in person) or at a qualifying event. On our website, go to Registry > Eligibility for more information on these requirements.

Does the horse’s sire and dam have to be registered with AWSSR?

We do not require the horse’s sire or dam to be registered with AWSSR. The sire and dam also do not have to have a DNA profile on record. Because we are a performance registry, we use DNA solely for the purpose of identification and not parentage verification.

How do I submit my paperwork?

You can submit your forms as attachments to info@awssr.org or mail to the PO Box listed on our website.

How do I submit payment?

You can send payment via PayPal to director@awssr.org or mail a check to the PO Box listed on our website.

I just purchased a horse that has AWSSR papers. How do I transfer the horse into my name?

To transfer a horse into your name, you need to first become a member of AWSSR. See Forms & Fees on our website for a membership form. Then send a bill of sale, the original papers, and a transfer form to the PO Box listed on our website. You may black out the price on the bill of sale if you wish.

How do I check where the upcoming inspections are?

On our website, go to Registry > Inspections to see where our upcoming inspections are taking place. If you are interested in hosting an inspection, please contact National Director Nancy Roth at info@awssr.org.

Can you help me identify a horse that has been separated from its AWSSR papers?

We can check our database for horses who are believed to have AWSSR papers or have an AWSSR brand. Please send photos and all information you have on the horse to info@awssr.org. Please note: we are a separate registry from the American Warmblood Registry, have our own identifying brand and cannot check to see if the horse is registered with AWR. Please contact them directly.
