Intimidating LJSR Jim, affectionately known as “Jim,” competes mostly in Western Dressage. He was the 2018 AWSSR Western Dressage Gold Medalist, 2019, 2020 and 2021 AWSSR Western Dressage Silver Medalist, a 2020 WDAA World Show Top 10, a 2021 WDAA International Challenge Top 10, the 2019 and 2020 New England Paint Horse Club Dressage Champion and an APHA PAC Dressage Reserve Champion in 2020. Kaitlyn and Jim just moved up to competing at the Basic level for the end of 2021 and into 2022. He was a 2020 AWSSR Ambassador.

“When you first meet Jim, he is the most cuddly, love me now kind of horse, but he’s actually quite sensitive,” Kaitlyn said. “He will try his heart out for his people. He really comes alive in the ring.”

Currently Jim competes mostly in western dressage, but Kaitlyn said he has also begun small jumps with her husband, Thomas.

“Owning an American Warmblood to me means you own a horse with a heart of gold, who will always rise up to the occasion and perform,” she said. “They may not always have the fanciest bloodline or be able to be traced back decades and decades, but their performance record shows all you need to know.”
Kaitlyn originally found AWSSR years ago with her first horse.
“I immediately jumped in and volunteered to help with the website,” she said. Kaitlyn has been the registry’s media specialist for nearly 5 years now. “Since then, my love for AWSSR has grown exponentially. I love what the registry stands for and the horses that bring us together.”
Her advice to other American Warmblood owners?
“Stand by your horse and just do you. Go into the ring confident and represent AWSSR with pride.”
