Two Moon

Red Preferred stallion

14.3 hands, 5 years old

Owned by Alexis Faith of Michigan City, IN

DNA: Selle Francais, Holsteiner, Hanoverian

Alexis purchased Two Moon from a meat slaughter auction in Pennsylvania. “There’s a zillion horses [that] end up there, though, many excellent horses are meat auctioned due to lost papers and no tracking information,” she said. Although Two Moon was sold without papers, his DNA came back 100 percent Warmblood from Texas A&M University and she filed for papers with American Warmblood.

Alexis said Two Moon’s specialty is jumping and according to his trainers, he is the “most gentle and sound-minded stallion they have ever met.”

“Warmbloods are the ideal horse and mount,” she said. “Generally, they take the best qualities from the hot and cold breeds, which creates an ideal fusion, a complete Yin and Yang harmony.”

Alexis said she is proud to have Two Moon registered with AWSSR and is glad that the registry is more “science-based” than other European registries.

“Fortunately for Two Moon, the AWSSR adheres to the laws of science, DNA testing and horse inspections, and does not require papers. This represents a massive change in the registry system and a wise one,” she said. ” It is possible that my horse ended up at the slaughter auction because his papers had been lost, but he has been given the chance to prove himself by the enlightened AWSSR, adhering to the dictum that one breeds the horse, not the papers.”

Two Moon was inspected by Douglas Christiansen, one of the “top and most detailed scoring UFEC judges.”
Two Moon is also a movie star and was cast as a horse in “The End” to be released in 2018.
“I feel very blessed to be a part of the AWSSR movement, with a progressive approach more grounded, purposeful and perhaps more meaningful and trustworthy than that of the clannish and perhaps antiquated horse registry,” Alexis said.
